Actor Khushi Kapoor has joined Indian nailcare brand nailinit as Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer (CCO), partnering with existing founders Shubham Singhal and Tanishq Ambegaokar. Her role extends beyond brand association, with involvement in product development, design, sourcing and the company’s creative direction.
Kapoor has contributed to the development of the brand’s press-on nails, including material research, vendor selection and improvements to the adhesive. Her focus has been on creating products that offer the appearance and hold of acrylic nails while avoiding the associated nail damage.
“One conversation that really sticks with me is the one I had with Tanishq about the nail glue. I was very particular about wanting press-ons that would stick well and stay put, almost like acrylics, but without the damage. I really wanted us to get that balance right. It was important to me that we weren’t just creating something that looked good, but something that worked well, too,” she explains.
Her involvement also shaped the brand’s wider nailcare offering. Alongside press-on nails, nailinit has developed a cuticle oil and guidance covering application, nail preparation and removal.
“I didn’t want us to just sell press-ons. I wanted us to think about the whole experience, including how you prep your nails and care for them,” says Khushi.
Kapoor has also contributed to design collections, campaigns and brand communication. Ahead of the announcement, she hosted a slumber party in Alibaug, inviting a select group of guests to experience the products. The event was opened to Instagram followers through an application process that received approximately 25,000 responses.
“The idea of a slumber party came from what a girls’ night really means to me. It’s where you share your biggest secrets, have the most random conversations and talk about all the dreams you’re hoping to make a reality. A lot of the time, those nights become the space where you feel most comfortable being yourself,” she shares.
Beyond product and creative decisions, Kapoor has participated in discussions around manufacturing, sourcing, warehousing and team building. In her new role, she will continue working with Singhal and Ambegaokar on product development, future collections, campaigns and the overall customer experience.
“It wasn’t just about associating with a brand. It was about building something I genuinely believed in, something that could do more for girls and change the way they experience nails. I finally found something that was mine to build.”
Co-founded by Shubham Singhal, Tanishq Ambegaokar and Khushi Kapoor, nailinit operates in India’s nailcare space with a portfolio spanning press-on nails and complementary care products. Kapoor’s appointment places her directly within the brand’s product and business-building journey, reflecting a move from celebrity association towards active participation in entrepreneurship.
