Basu Roy takes on the role after more than five years as Head of Corporate Communications at Godrej & Boyce.
Smita Basu Roy has joined PepsiCo as Head of Corporate Communications – India & South Asia.
She took up the role in June 2026 and is based in Gurugram. Basu Roy shared news of her move in a LinkedIn post, reflecting on her first day at PepsiCo and thanking the team for the welcome.
Before joining PepsiCo, Basu Roy served as Head of Corporate Communications at Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. from April 2021 to June 2026.
Her earlier experience also includes a stint as Head of Corporate Communications at Voltas Limited, from September 2019 to April 2021. Prior to that, she spent more than nine years across corporate communications roles within the Godrej Group, including GM, Corporate Communications, DGM, Corporate Communications and Manager, Corporate Communications.
Across her career, Basu Roy has worked in areas including corporate communications, digital PR, content strategy, thought leadership, crisis communication and external communications.
