Sanjay Rao has joined Bata India Limited as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.
Rao announced the appointment through a LinkedIn post, writing, “Sharing with tremendous pride and pleasure that I’ve joined Bata India as CEO & Managing Director, after the exciting and sport-led years at Nike.”
Speaking about his new role, Rao outlined his focus on putting consumers first, stating, “The mission is simple yet challenging: One Bata X 1B+ Market X One Big Ambition – to put the consumers first.”
Rao joins Bata India after serving in senior leadership roles at Nike, most recently as Senior Director, Nike Retail – France & Benelux. He previously held the role of Senior Director, Nike Retail – France & Francophone EU.
His experience also includes serving as President & Director General, Guess France, and Managing Director & Board Member for Zara and Massimo Dutti in India at Inditex.
