The ninth season of the JioHotstar celebrity chat show will premiere on October 14, bringing the 22-year-old franchise to a close.

Koffee With Karan is set to return for one final round. Karan Johar’s celebrity chat show will conclude with its ninth season, which begins streaming exclusively on JioHotstar on October 14. Since its debut in 2004, the show has become a familiar part of Indian pop culture, with conversations involving some of the biggest names in entertainment regularly spilling beyond the show itself. Relationships, friendships, marriages, rapid-fire answers and controversies have often turned episodes into talking points long after they aired.

Johar announced the final season through an emotional video reflecting on the show’s journey and the reactions that have followed it over the years, from trolling and controversy to the audience support that continued to bring viewers back.

“There are some journeys you don’t plan to end, you simply know, somewhere deep within you, when it is time to let them go. Koffee With Karan has been an extraordinary part of my life. It has given me friendships, memories, moments of complete madness, a lot of love and yes, its fair share of controversy!”

He added, “But through all of it, what has remained constant is the audience. They have laughed with us, debated us, trolled us, celebrated us and most importantly, kept coming back for another cup. Saying goodbye is emotional, but it also feels right.”

For Johar, the final season is also intended as a celebration of the franchise and the people who have shaped it. “This final season is my way of raising the mug one last time with gratitude, with love and with everyone who has made Koffee With Karan what it is. So, come have one last cup of Koffee with me. One last time,” he said.
