Prabhjeet Singh has joined OpenAI as Managing Director, India. He announced the move through a LinkedIn post, sharing that he will lead the company’s India business.
“Last week, I joined OpenAI to lead the India business,” Singh wrote.
Speaking about his new role, he said, “Few opportunities feel as consequential as helping shape what AI can mean for India, and what India can mean for AI.”
Singh joins OpenAI after serving as President, India & South Asia at Uber, where he led the company’s operations in the region. Before Uber, he was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, working with private- and public-sector clients across India and Southeast Asia.
At OpenAI, Singh will lead the company’s India business as it looks to expand the usefulness, accessibility and adoption of advanced AI across the country.
