Jessica Shoemaker has joined Netflix as Director of Global Product Marketing, Ads, moving to the streaming company after nearly a decade at Meta.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Shoemaker said she had made the “tough decision” to leave Meta and described the experience as a defining chapter in her career. She said her time there taught her how to work across diverse teams, build context around highly technical products, translate product value into simple market-facing language, and lead through ambiguity and uncertainty.

For her next move, Shoemaker said she is joining Netflix “as Global Director of Product Marketing to help grow their ads business.”

She added that she was drawn to Netflix as a longtime fan of its content and business model, as well as by the company’s culture and the opportunity to join a business that is still being shaped and scaled.

At Meta, Shoemaker most recently served as Head of Product Marketing, Retail and CPG, leading a team responsible for advertising products serving the retail and consumer packaged goods industries. Her role involved working across product, engineering, sales, legal, partnerships, policy and communications, with responsibilities spanning market insights, opportunity sizing, product positioning and go-to-market strategy.

She previously held product marketing leadership roles across Meta’s advertising business, including Head of Product Marketing, Value Portfolio, Product Marketing Lead for Vertical Products, Ads, and Product Marketing Manager roles focused on brand advertising and brand measurement.

Before Meta, Shoemaker worked at Anheuser-Busch InBev as Senior Brand Manager for Bud Light, where she led work around packaging redesign and its associated creative campaign.

She began her brand marketing career at Unilever, working across Dove Deodorant and Fruttare Ice Cream. Her experience there included go-to-market activities, brand activation, concept development, campaign planning, merchandising and customer sell-in.

Shoemaker now joins Netflix at a time when the company is continuing to build and scale its advertising business, bringing product marketing and advertising experience from both the technology and consumer brand sides.
